Excited to join Cristy Maltese and Maryann Thomas in curating this exhibit.
Beyond the Backgrounds – Interpreting the Real World and Beyond

brings together three former animation background painters whose careers helped shape the visual worlds of Disney, Warner Bros., Nickelodeon, Sony, and other major studios.

Featured artists Maryann Thomas, Cristy Maltese, and Anette Power present personal works that move beyond animation into fine art, exploring themes of light, memory, gratitude, storytelling, and everyday beauty.
The exhibition runs August 6–28 at Gallery 839, 1105 North Hollywood Way, Burbank.
 

An opening reception will be held on August 6 from 6–8 p.m. Admission is free.

July 10th - July 19th, 2026. Beyond excited to spend time painting in Easton with these great artists this summer!
